This sword (SH1015 Wakizashi) has a hand-forged 1065 high-carbon steel blade that is differentially tempered using the traditional claying method. The sword is mounted in black with tsuka-ito in premium black Japanese cotton. The saya is finished in a deep black lacquer with a black cotton sageo. A finely rendered dragon, detailled in gold with true back-and-front detailing, forms the black iron tsuba. The fittings are superbly antiqued, adding to the aesthetics of the sword.
